Hi Butch!...I love your transparent/glass skins and so do thousands of others! That's why the jealousy by these so-called "masters" who make boring sci-fi, trekkie type skins....most of their skins lose interest after about 5 minutes, while skins like yours are used over and over...why?...because we like VISTA TYPE SKINS...that's what windowblinds is originally all about...especially by those who have XP.....so screw these low-class masters and keep up the good work......p.s. wincustomizer people: You're going to start losing customers if you don't start penalizing these mean-spirited MASTERS from discouraging others work...idiots!

Butch: Love your skins. Very clean and easy on the eyes. Hard to achieve a seemingly simple skin with the perfection you manage on every one.
Do have a problem to advise you of on your latest efforts. MidNight2.5 appears to be almost perfect. Minor (sporadic) problem of the IE menu bar not always completely filling in.
However, ClearBlack and ClearVista both do not show window control buttons (min, max, exit) on either the Windows themselves or in the WB preview pane. The problem I'd noted elsewhere of the names showing as 'unknown' in WB seems to have been corrected by doing an un/reinstall of WB.
Did a verify of the WB install and got an "NIC" error. Don't know what's with that, but I've noticed that WB (and others) appear to not be stable. Get what appears to be a clean install and then, a day or so later, get an NIC.

I -really- like ClearBlack, but a bug has been introduced to the XP skin - the separator bars are now pink (http://members.dslextreme.com/users/robinsiebler/images/pink_separators.jpg). I -really- hope you will fix this bug.

I'd been reading the comment section on your Crystal skin with great interest and, I'm sorry to say, great disgust.
For me, the bottom line which determines whether or not I use a skin is whether I like it or not. That's it.
I don't feel compelled to dissect a skin piece by piece looking for alleged acts of GUI plagiarism as some other members have done here. To be honest, it doesn't matter to me one iota if there are similarities between elements of anyone's skins. If I like the screenshot, I'll download it and see how it fits with my personal taste. That has always been the case with your skins, Butch. I like the simplistic elegance that all of your work possesses and I use it for that reason.
Now, if you'll grant me a moment, I'd like to address the public beating you took at the hands of some real "heroes".
The publicly aggressive comments by some of the so called "Masters" here are wholly unnecessary. The purpose for skinning is to advance one's skills and to create something others will enjoy for the simple pleasure derived from taking a concept from it's infancy to completion as a mature work.
Perhaps the elite here should keep that in mind the next time they feel like ganging up on somone else on the playground.
To publicly berate someone in the open is INEXCUSABLE and should result in a suspension of the individual's account privileges. If harsh criticism needs to be given the only appropriate source for that is the site operator and it should ALWAYS be done privately.
I will not use any materials posted by those who engage in such mean-spirited behaviour.
The guilty in this situation know who they are. Shame on you for making this place your personal Spanish Inquisition.
Butch is a talented and nice guy whose work is enjoyed by a great many of us here and we don't need you to tell us whether it's acceptable or meets your personal standards as "Masters".
If the core requirements of achieving master status here are to be arrogant, pompous and cruel then I pray I never ascend to your level.
I can't help but feel that some of you are feeling threatened in some way by Butch's presence here.
Since Butch doesn't derive income from his submissions here and you presumably don't either I am at a loss to understand why you feel it necessary to "step up to the plate" to defend Stardock.
I would think that they are more than able to speak for themselves in this matter and, frankly, I think a great many of us would have preferred it if you had held your tongues and allowed them to do that.
Of course, one can never be certain what transpires behind the scenes and perhaps some of you had a great more to lose than you're letting on.
That's your issue though and should not have any bearing on anyone else.
Remember the old saying from childhood, "If you can't say something nice..."? You might want to revisit that little slice of morality.
I'm saddened to see you remove your work from the site, Butch. Your taste in design is much like my own and I enjoy bringing your vision to my desktop. :-)
I don't know who made the decision that your skins were going to be pulled, prior to you removing them, but I hope you'll reconsider and repost them. Things won't be the same without them.

DEVJIT HI my friend, well actually it seems that there is a lot of jealousy around here. All you had to do is look at my last windowblind and you would have seen that. anyways yesterday they decided to start removing my windowblinds with some baloney story. The true fact is that my skins were getting a lot of downloads and the one they started with was the one that had the most downloads. I believe it was 49,000 something. So hey, if they are just gonna remove my work, better for me to do it instead of them. Its really sad when adults worry about such insignificant things as download count...

I really enjoy your work. I haven't seen anyone else making a comment about this though, yet it seems to mainly happen with your skins, but not even all of them. Sometimes when I apply a skin of yours (also Stardock Design) the first taskbar button hides behind the Start Menu button. Btw my taskbar is on the top.
It happens with BlackGlass and Midnight, but not with Clear. I'm unsure what could be causing this since all my other skins apply correctly(aside from Stardust from Stardock Design).
Any idea what is causing this? I've sent in a support ticket but don't know if they can help either.
Otherwise I'll keep trying your skins, unfortunately I can't always use them if this issue persists.

Been using Black Glass for a short while now and its definitely one of my favorites. One minor thing though. When you are given a choice in a web site such as google.com.au, its hard to differentiate between the choices, they are both blue.
