Thanks for stopping by my site mon ami !
Merci infiniment mon ami!!!
I do like what you did with Distant Blue and thanks everso for the credit. I actually feel quite proud

Thanks again!
Thank you for stopping by my WC site Cobra - I appreciate that you take the time to inspire me to keep going.
Thanks for the welcome. I was born and raised in the "sticks" as our urban dwellers would say, I was a cattle breeder before a very rare genetic disorder crept up on me and put me in a wheelchair, luckily my daughter carried on the our herd, which was was founded in 1960, so the genetics are carrying on
The computer is my lifeline and recently getting into skinning keeps my mind off how my illness can make me feel.
Thank you CK for not only your compliment to my work but also your support. It makes me proud to see something as great as that screenshot b/c of something I've done. Thank you!
Hi CK! I took a peek at it in your gallery, It looks fantastic! You sure know how to make my things look good!
Thanks for the comment, it was a very pleasant surprise when I saw the promotions on the main page.
Although I have been visiting and downloading from Wincustomize for quite a while I have only just started to get more involved, I only set up my page a couple days ago.
Thanks for the comment It means alot coming from someone with your skills.
Dropping in to say hey, so...hey.
Love your new desktop! I checked out those icons after seeing your last SS, but haven't had a chance to do anything with them yet. I hope you submitted this one!!
Thank you Cobra khan..I appreciate it..I do want to learn to skin...but I just cant get started...I need the right tools I guess..lol...well thanx again..
Hi! Thanks for stopping by my gallery and for the encouraging words. I try not to let ratings bother me and just revel in the download count, but it really gets frustrating when you have folks dissing your hard work and they aren't even big enough to post a comment on why they don't like your effort! This too, shall pass!
Good to hear from ya, my friend...It's trying ever so slowly to become springtime in ND...the weatherman even forecast a high of 70 for next week, but alas that has already been nixed! So it's been in the 40's & 50's for highs.LOL I think I'm going to like WinStep from a power user standpoint...seems to be a beefed up RightClick meets OD + SMX, etc. It'll be handy once I get it configured to my liking. Didn't really buy it with SS in mind...but who knows? I know exactly what you mean about "forcing" SS. Already tried it...got so frustrated swore I'd never do another. But don't get your hopes up too high on my next one...just kinda simple, but I enjoyed doing it...so it came together quickly like Silex did...but not as pretty....Take care, my friend! :D
Hi doomchild..thanks for the compliments. I'm sorry but I am not a skinner and really can't help you in creating a WindowBlind, though I do know it's not the easiest place to start in skinning....perhaps if you try a forum here it might help. Anyway, I wish you the best of luck and hope you find what you're looking for.
Hey, Bob...how ya doin'? :) Have you ever tried WinStep? I had been curious about it...especially since Tiggz made such a sharp theme for it. So when I saw it being offered today for half-price, I went ahead and purchased it. Haven't had a chance to play around much with it yet. If you have tried it, do you like it? BTW, I do have another SS ready to go (except for the credits)...got side-tracked by WinStep. It's not as grand as my last one, but I had fun putting it together this afternoon. Later...
Nice work u have here Cobra Kahn...I want to learn how to create my own windowblinds skins....any suggestion..thank u...
Greetings Cobra Kahn...My name is Gurbir SIngh..I have been a big fan of wincustomize since 1990's...it amazed me ...how windowblinds can enhance my visual experience. I have all the respect for all you skinners out there..that make our life more entertaining . I never any forums before...and I have just installed stardock central...If with the permissions of all the skinning experts I would like to upload some of my desktop screenshots....It would be a great honour ...if any one of you guys...can teach me how to get started with skinng...We shall meet again...Thank you very much...
Thanks for the comment...read my mind :)
Hey Bob...how are you doin'? I just logged in real quick to say hello! :D Lookin' forward to your next SS...I know it'll be spectacular as always, my friend! :D
Thank you for taking the time to stop by my site and for the nice comments! Much appreciated! :)
Thank you so very much, my friend! I'm humbled and grateful for all your complimentary comments. Silex Entwined actually just kinda "fell into place" rather quickly. It started with the idea of featuring the winners of the contest. 1st the wall, then the recolor of the WB & I lucked out to find widgets that matched so well. I had it all done except for the credits before my son arrived. He used to live in ND, so when he went to a friend's house, I gathered up the credits and uploaded. Still working on ideas for the other winners...Your approval & support means so much to me!!!! :D
My son went to a friend's house, so I dropped in to leave a few quick comments. Thanks for your concern...means a lot to me.
Appreciate the info, Wanda...was getting concerned.
Hey Bob...Just stopped by to let you know my youngest son, Richard, flew in from Austin to visit this week. So I won't be around as much as usual while he's here. I did take a few minutes to leave some quick comments. "To Replicate" looks great! Talk to ya later...
Mindy, you've received a great honor and it's well deserved. Just say what you feel and enjoy the moment...it's your day, my friend.
Thank you for your comments on my site about SSOTD. I am too shocked to think of anything to say!
I just stop to say you have a really nice gallery. Keep working friend!
Wanda, you are so kind in a complimentary way....I appreciate your comments and support more than you know.
Bob, I just saw "Summer Fire" (I got a late start this morning)! Congratulations, my friend, it's a Masterpiece! Can't quit staring at it...:D
Didn't mind you posting one bit...and I did receive your reply. I have way too many computers and one is giving me trouble and it's the one on which I'm doing my current SS. LOL...be in touch.
BTW, I hope I wasn't out of line by posting a comment during moderation. I was getting ready to logoff and wanted to be sure you knew right away that I loved it. :D Did you receive my reply to validation?
Understandable mistake, Wanda. Glad to see "Candle in the Wind" went up a half star...as Richard Mohler says, "The ratings are brutal"...especially for those of us in the "Citizen" category where we don't get automatically bumped up because of our ranking :(
I thought that once it went from having no stars to having stars, it was out of moderation?! :(
I knew your congrats were a bit premature...any rating you see before a shot leaves moderation is tentative. Critters came in with a 3 and so it goes...but thanks for thinking and assuming it was good enough for a five. LOL!
Congrats on the 5 stars for "Critters"! :D It's well-deserved, as it is a Masterpiece!!!
"Critters" is stunning, CK! I went ahead and left a comment, because I have to quit staying up so late. I'm eager to see how they rate it. I know this SS will be very popular! Congrats, my friend! :D
I replied to your last comment on my own page, instead of here...oops!
I meant most outstanding shots...not walls
I've been meaning to tell you that of all the shots I've seen (and I've done a lot of browsing) your Itsy Bitsy Spider and Bee Seazon are the two most outstanding walls! Both of them are absolutely perfect...from a purely artistic standpoint as well as from the desktop setup standpoint. There isn't a single pixel out of place. They're are so good, I didn't want to quit staring at them. My Dragon SS has done well...probably because of the whole dragon appeal thing. But it is isn't as clean and perfect as those two shots of yours...Later :D
Thanks for the reply. I'm glad you liked my SS; I value your opinion. I'm eager to see your next SS...if you're that excited about it, I know it must be outstanding. BTW, what time zone are you in...I'm in CST.
Hi, Bob :) The Phoenix is great...looks like it's off to a great start! I ran across a wall I liked of Marilyn Monroe. I've always been intrigued by her beauty, so I put together a quick shot. It's rather minimalistic, in that I only included a WB, a RL, a Xion & a cursor. I felt that any additional items would spoil the artistic look I wanted to achieve. I did add some text & an image (from the WB) to the wall. I submitted it & it's in my gallery, but I didn't receive an email indicating approval or rejection...? So am I to presume that it was rejected? If so, I would think the mods would at least have the decency to send an email. BTW, I noticed a shot the other night you did of NLL. (It looked sharp, BTW) It was there & then it was gone. So what happened? If it stays in my gallery with no stars, it looks like a public rejection & I don't like that. This is frustrating & I'm beginning to think I should just stick to my own art & not spend the time on this stuff...
Hey CK! :) LT Quartz is awesome! You must have an incredible collection of goodies. Slowly but surely-thanks to your links and my browsing-I'm starting to get a decent collection of stuff. Do you need some kind of patch to be able to use GUI kits like Quartz? I downloaded the RAR file, but I haven't extracted it yet...
Cool...Looking forward to that!
Happy Easter, Bob! :) Thanks for the reply. I was feeling kinda discouraged...thinking maybe Dragon World as a happy fluke. I have to say I have been kinda puzzled by the ratings, although I'm trying to ignore that and just have fun. I like the email idea. I had thought about asking you, but didn't know if I should. Also I was hesitant to even post my address, because I like to be security conscious. Look forward to exchanging ideas.
Yeah, Wanda...it's always hard to follow up a super SS...but don't quit...you'll strike gold again. What makes it difficult these days is getting through moderation...it seems they're on auto pilot at times and give out 2 1/2 stars to everybody, regardless of content. I've seen teenagers get 2 1/2 for sending in a start menu and a few icons...while your gem (and some of mine) get the same rating - doesn't make sense to me. I have your email address which you gave to Fairyy~ so I'll write you privately, if it's okay, and give you some pointers on what I've learned. Have a nice Easter!
That's great, Bob. I'm sure you'll be dangerous once you get up to speed on that! Can't Wait. BTW, that crazy Dragon World SS is like the Duracell Pink Bunny-"it keeps going & going & going" I'm pleased and surprised that my first ScreenShot is such a hit, but I think I inadvertently created for myself a tough act to follow? I'm thinking maybe I should quit while I'm ahead...
You do notice things, Wanda. By the way, I have a Mac too, but don't use it for screenshots....yet.
Hey, Ck...You know how you're always saying you appreciate my attention to detail...Check out the comment I left for koolet on his AEON SS. I think you'll get a kick out of it...
You're right about the ratings deal! I was just trying to use the mods' initial rating as a gauge for what they want to see in screenshots. I guess as along as my shots aren't rejected, I'll keep puttin' designs out there for people to see and hopefully enjoy. Thanks, friend, for your support. It's already been invaluable.
I saw the 2 1/2 stars but wasn't worried...I knew you'd go up. If you worry about ratings you'll go crazy....just have fun and the rest will follow. I see you're up to 3 1/2 already - excellence will be recognized sooner or later and you seem to be doing all the right things.
Well, my second SS is up, but it only got 2 1/2 stars. I guess the mods like to see more elements than I used in this one or maybe what I did use blends in too well. No biggie, though, it's all just for fun. I'm interested in composing pictures - not just seeing how much stuff I can fit on the screen. So how about that next one of yours? Bring it on. I know it'll be great! It's ridiculously late, so I'd better get some sleep. Later, friend.
Hi, CobraKahn! Thanks for the congrats on SSOTD! I appreciate your kind words! I greatly admire your creative designs and your obvious intellect! I always look forward to seeing your work. Thank you for making me feel so welcome! I have a couple of screenshots nearly completed, and I'm really having fun with it. Cheers, Wanda
Okay, thanks messiah....but I see what happened to Diafragma and he sure seemed upset...and rightly so. Enough said...I won't mention it again and I do appreciate all your generous support of my work. You've been great! Thanks!
Everyone around here, well most everyone, will tell you not to worry about the rating system. Your work speaks for itself and you have a good following. Don't get down about low stars.
Love that last one bud! Superb.
Sorry about that man I kind of screw up right there, but I fixed it now try it again.
Nice desktop you got there.
you're doing great mate. keep it all coming those wicked SS of yours and thanks for visiting my WC page.appreciate it very much.....
No problem, hope you enjoyed!
Hi Cobra
I couldnt find the SS you asked me to look at...is it still in moderation...or am I missing it ?
Congrats on making the SSOTD!!!! You really did a good job on that one! :)
Thanks CobraKahn for your kind words! I'm glad you enjoy using what I create...it makes it all worth it when someone enjoys your labors. ;)
Well, I started messing with doing the sidebar....not sure if I will complete it though. I would have to register over at Desktop Sidebar site and upload it there...I have never published any of the sidebars I've done before...always just did them for myself. I'll have to see how it goes. I do most of my skinning early in the morning....that is when I am most creative..and, that is when I have the most time. I am semi-retired, but still work a couple days a week. It is frigid here too! The dang wind is what makes it so cold-feeling. It is supposed to start warming up tomorrow, thank God!
I use Desktop Sidebar, and have for years! I keep mine on autohide, as I don't like anything on my desktop blocking the wall. I even keep my taskbar on autohide as well. Yes, the blind is a Valentine blind. I'm debating on making a sidebar for it as well. I generally use the Real XP Silver sidebar, but, thought that since more people are finally discovering desktop sidebar, this might be a good time to make one.
Sorry for not posting back before this. I have been real busy with my "real" life...lol. Your SS Shadowland is really awesome! I love simple desktops without a lot of clutter, and you achieved that well! The glass blind is perfect with it. And thanks for the kudos on Bronze Daize. The blind I am almost finished with is featured on my site as the Desktop...told you it was a "girly" blind! :)
thanks cobrakahn, u try use another of my widgys ;)
This next blind is more of a "girly" one....hadn't done one in a while. I also have another one on the back burner....one I am making to match a wall made by someone else. I love this time of year...not too cold and not hot....love being able to open up my house and give the A/C a rest!
Did you try writing her on her site, like you did me? Sometimes, she doesn't visit her site for several days. I'll tell her the next time I email her...am working on another blind, and she tests them for me...might be a couple of days, though.
Yea, I designed the avatar myself...in addition to purple, I love butterflies. Thanks for the complement. :)
You are on the East coast, I'm on the west coast...lol. Really small world, huh? As far as my motto, I am a regestered nurse, and have always cared a lot about people. I feel people don't give a hoot about your educations (school and life)...it's about how you treat other people....hence my motto was born in 1980. And I try to live by that everyday of my life.
Thanks again for stopping by. Purple is one of my favorite colors. So, you wound up being a banker in Florida...are you still in Florida? I live in Florida as well...in the Tampa Bay area. Small world!
Thank you again...what you did with your desktop was awesome! You have a wonderful artistic side to you. It is so nice to see my blind in use with different accessories. Thank you again! :)
Thanks for stopping by my site and your kind comments. I'm glad you told me about the screenshot...looks awesome!
You are doing great my friend and you shouldn't worry about what others like or prefer as long as it suits you and makes you happy. I personally try to make my shots look the least possible like Windows because I just hate the way Windows look hahaha, but its just my own opinion. Hope to see more from you... good luck
Welcome aboard my friend... and thank you for your nice words.
Thanks, messiah...really appreciate your comments and encouragement.
Sometimes we all need words of support from someone of your stature. Have always loved your work and am using your docks again in my WIP ...hope you like it when it comes out.
I'm loving your screenshots. Keep 'em coming.
Thank you so much CobraKahn...my email is rowizeguy@yahoo.com. I hope you will write me so I can learn how to get that Sexy screen shot on my laptop. Thanks again and have a Happy New Year.....your friend, rowizeguy
Thanks CobraKahn! My email is xiandilee@yahoo.com. (please delete this comment when your done, so my email address isn't out there for everyone to get)Thank You!!
Xiandi, I guess I panicked when I thought you were referring to Dreamy Eyes and when I checked, I noticed I had forgotten to mention your docks...sorry for the misunderstanding, but I was in error and I did correct the omission. However, I'm glad you like "My Desktop" and the docks are Omega by WebGizmos. Glad we're still friends...really respect and admire your work.
CobraKahn, I was asking you about your DESKTOP screenshot (My Desktop) right here on your profile. The one thats all dark and cool looking. I'm NOT offended AT ALL about the other screenshot...It's beautiful and you used a lot of my stuff, I'm honored that you did. I dont care about you not mentioning the dock there. Sorry for any misunderstanding that I caused by not asking the question right.
Sorry, Xiandi...I forgot to give you credit for them. I will post a comment in the SS section apologizing for omitting my use of your Talc Docks for Object Dock. Forgive me!
Hi there! I was wondering where you got those docks in your desktop screenshot. They're really cool!
Thanks, Duke...very kind and generous of you to welcome me with such alacrity. Even though I've been involved with customization of the GUI over the years, I've never posted before....always kept my work private. Your welcome has made me aware of the need to make all creative endeavors social and altruistic. I've enjoyed the comments on my recent submissions from people like you who are very helpful and encouraging. I plan on being around for a while and will submit another SS soon. Looking forward to your work as well...happy holidays to you a
