Hey Duke, glad you stopped by and nice to hear from you. I'm glad your back to doing those screenshots, I love what you do and I'll be checking in the gallery every now and then. I've been kinda busy lately and haven't had much time for skinning but I'm trying to push a few minutes in here and there.

Sorry for the wait on response...I'm not sure about skinning OB. Other than downloading one, taking it apart and seeing what the pieces are...If the Wiki doesn't have anything, that's what I'd do. Good luck.

Nice desktop, wish I could figure why that sysmetrics shows those buttons until you forward or go back then everything is fine. Maybe its because its using all those graphics resources. Not sure. Glad to see the blind working for you :)
Mar 5, 2008 2:24 PM
Thanks Duke.... ;)
Feb 26, 2008 1:34 PM
Duke, what is going on.. I did like Lola very much. And am very disppointed that you aren't going to be making screenshots anymore. I hope everything is alright with you and please don't be a stranger in the screenshot gallery. You WILL BE MISSED... Rose..:)

So, did you decide to stick with paint.net? The more familiar you get with any program you use, the better your thing turn out. BTW, I like your new avatar. :)
Feb 18, 2008 2:44 PM
Hi Duke! I just wanted to thank you for your comments on my screenshot. Much appreciated! I wont be putting up anything new for a bit...I'm working on a blind that I think you might like.:)
Feb 11, 2008 12:41 PM
Thanks again for stopping by Duke! :) I know how ya feel bud....things aren't going to well health wise here either...doing docks takes my mind off of it somewhat. Glad your enjoying them and love seeing them being used!
Feb 10, 2008 12:57 PM
Duke, thanks for stopping by and for the kind comments. I see you'd like to know how to add links to your description? Just paste them right into the description box. Thats all you need to do. when you hit submit, the site will clean them up so there isn't a bunch of text, it will just say 'Link'.
Feb 5, 2008 3:09 PM
Hi Duke!! Thanks for the comment in Safari Styler. Do you received my tutorial HOW TO CREATE A STYLE FOR SIDEBAR STYLER? :) Bye!!
Feb 2, 2008 6:34 PM
I love your gallery Bro!

Adding a link to you comment section is simply highlighting the address you want to copy, right click copy, in your comment window left click "insert web link", right click paste, left click ok!

You'll have to ask one of the guys how to add it to your Screen Shot description and let me know because I've never done it.

It appears if you just past a link into the description that it becomes a link, I don't see any other type of insert there.

I'm sure Messiah, Bilbo, Zubaz or one of the other Seniors would be happy to tell us, but I was content with adding it to comments because it keeps the description from looking cluttered.

But that's just me.

Hope this helps some, keep me posted!

Hey Duke! Happy New Year and all that stuff! Just wanted to let you know you can feel free to use my docks in any and all screenshots you want...after all they are free! And don't be offended if I should happen to not respond to any post you put in my guestbook since I rarely get in there...only once in awhile or if I click the wrong button... But anyway....knock yourself out with the screenshots....they've all looked great so far!
Jan 1, 2008 4:40 PM

Hi Duke 261, Glad you liked the Slider SS. I do love that skin. You asked about the WMP...thats just the standard player shrunken down to just the player bars showing with the Slider Blind applied. I am running Vista, unsure if it looks the same on XP.

Got you message Duke:

Here's the deal about WC's rating system. Don't get caught up in the ratings as far as your designs go. I've been doing screen shots for over a year and have yet to receive 5 stars.

Yet I've seen setups of lesser content and effort get higher marks. This really pissed me off, but I had to think, am I doing this for the ratings, or because I love what I do and having a blast doing it.

The fun I'm having outweighs any rating they can give me Duke.

Typically you'll see five stars on newly introduced elements, components and what's known as work in progress. And if you notice it's the skinners that get the high marks and they deserve it.

Screnn shooters such as myself and you average 3 stars because we're merely displaying other people's work.

A Master Skinner can come into your shot, rate it and it will boost your over-all rating i.e. you started with 3 stars and got boosted to 3 1/2 and so on.

The ratings has a lot to do with the Moderator judging it as well.

So do not let a devised system diminish your creativity or the fun you're having. Don't over-think this stuff, your work is top notch. Leave comments on other people's setups and they'll do the same for you. And that my friend is when one of those people just might be the one who boosts your over-all rating.

Make yourself know by your constructive words and let your work speak for itself.

If you enjoy what you're doing with your customizations, then hanging it up isn't an option.

Here's a clue. What I do once I post a shot is I go back to the galleries where I got my components and elements and leave a link to my new shot for the skinner, designer or artist to let them know that I appreciate their work and to check out what I did with it.

9 out of 10 times they come by, leave a thank you and boost your rating.

But keep in mind, 3 stars is the norm for a damn good screen shot from a non-skinner.

I hope this help and my wish is that you continue your designing with all the passion that got you here in the first place.

Take care, I got your back;

Cp

Hey Cp, Thanks for your comments on my latest screenshot Instant Karma. Your comments were positive and I thank you for that. I wonder if you could give me some constructive critisism re: my work. I knew karma was simple but I thought it was aesteticaly together, balanced and carried a thematic message in tribute to the Beatles. I never seem to get more than 3 stars for my work while i see other desktops get 5 stars for work no more original than mine re: skinning of elements. What's my problem...I'm ready to hang it up.Don't mean to be a cry baby. Thanks. Duke

Ahhhhh! I see you're a guitarist Duke!

Go to my WC photo gallery and you'll see what my instrument of choice is!

You do wonderful designs and have a sweet touch and flow about your style and considering you've only been a member for 4 months makes your artistry all the more amazing!

Thanks again for stopping by Duke, once you see my photos, you'll see we have tons in common.

Don't be a stranger, I'm keeping a eye out on your work!
