Jul 4, 2008 2:36 AM
That would be easy, but, probably not as satisfying as making something new.
Jul 3, 2008 8:14 PM
Impressive and fantastic gallery Fairyy~!!! congrats!!!
Jul 2, 2008 3:01 PM
Trust me BK..I know how much work goes into a RC that has to be done pixel by pixel ( days ) ....guess it would just be easier to recolor old RightClick skins than bother making new ones.
Jun 30, 2008 11:12 PM
Hey Karen, Thanks for checking out my Jungle RC, I know what you mean about BMP's, If we could use PNG, then my RC wouldn't have been so choppy and it would have been a whole lot less per-pixel work. Damn that magic pink!!!!!! LOL!!! :D
Jun 16, 2008 2:31 AM
Your welcome BK..I liked them..very clever idea...

Hello Karen, Just thought a drive by hello was in order. You Rock!
Apr 7, 2008 2:53 AM
It's me again, I just wanted to say thanks for all your help and your patience. I hope I haven't been too much of a nuisance, I only bothered you because your one of the best! so I assumed you could help me, and you did, Thanks again.(WARNING!) the following contains embarrassing newbie statements: I didn't realize that I had to put it into a zip.
Apr 6, 2008 9:10 PM
Hi Karen. Just wanted to thank you here on your site for all the great work you do. The Zig Zag accessories are so cool with MJ's blind.
Apr 6, 2008 11:21 AM
BK13Garbageman: Im not sure what you mean that your 'having trouble uploading the menu skin' Explain more... You can email me if you like..once I log out of WC I dont usually come back until the evening or next day. Just click on the email user link. Or explain here if you prefer.
Apr 5, 2008 4:11 PM
Thanks for all your help, and all your wonderful work, and I think a flamingo would look nice.
Apr 5, 2008 4:05 PM
I just got all your zig zag stuff, I see why you've been so busy, I figured out the separator, but I'm having trouble uploading the menuskin, any advice?
Apr 5, 2008 1:23 PM
bk13GarbageMan: Sorry to hear you had PC prob. As for the separators, I don't usually use them..but its just a matter of taste. Sometimes I just make short separators that are centered - or you can make them the entire length of the RC. I prefer just a blank space so I make my separators invisible. WAVING back at you TC - nothing like a tacking pink flamingo in the garden ... its a must have!
Apr 4, 2008 11:58 PM
Hi, it's me again, any advice, tips, or tricks for separator width?
Apr 4, 2008 1:34 AM
*waving* So, you like flamingos too? I have some fake ones I put out in the summer, and three plush, and a couple of wooden ones and a flamingo bubble light from my sister!!! And thank you for all of your comments Karen, I really appreciate them!!! *huggles*
Apr 4, 2008 12:21 AM
Thanks for the help, I didn't mind the wait, turns out I was having system problems because I tried skin tool. A few restore points back and some reinstalls later, I'm back in business! Thanks again, time to learn those margins!
Apr 2, 2008 12:16 PM
bk13GarbageMan: Sorry I didn't get back to you but I hadn't logged back in until now. Have you looked inside the RightClick folder in your program files ? Inside the folder there is a " Skin Tool " Its a good tool to start out with ...makes skinning the RC easy until you learn the margins etc on the ini pad.
Apr 2, 2008 12:40 AM
It's me again, I figured it out, for the most part anyway. sorry to bother you.
Apr 1, 2008 4:12 PM
Hi, I'm new at all this skinning and I really like your work.I was wondering if you could tell me how to make a RC skin if you don't mind, and if you get a chance.
Mar 24, 2008 7:55 PM
Hi Angus...If I get time I'll try to make something to go with the Good Luck RC. I made the Dragon Rainlendar set but I can't upload it until I get permission from Stardock Design.
Mar 24, 2008 7:19 PM
Hey Karen! Any chance that widgets and rainys will be on your list to go with the Good Luck RC? Love the Dragon work. Keep it coming!!!!
Mar 23, 2008 8:49 PM
Hi, Fairyy! :) I just stopped by to say Happy Easter! All of your work is outstanding, and I thank you for your support! BTW, my grandson is doing great...Wanda :D
Mar 21, 2008 7:04 PM
I hope you like the way I showcased your Amphitrite art in my recent SS -"Passionate". It's a plain and simple ScreenShot but I wanted to do something that was more functional and yet artistic. It would please me greatly if I knew you approved of it and liked it...since I was thinking of your previous (perfect) screenshots as I constructed it. Thanks for all your support...you are wonderful to review all the screenshots as you do.
Mar 21, 2008 12:05 PM
Hi Fairyy:) Thanks for the explanation. The meaning is as awesome as I imagined it might be. I do calligrphy (before I got addicted to desktops!LOL), and I notice letters and words-from a visual and literal standpoint. Also, thanks for the congrats on my new Grandson! I can hardly wait to see him. My son emailed several photos, so that will have to suffice 'til I fly to Austin to see him. He came in at a healthy 8 lbs.2 oz! No blessing in the world compares with grandchildren!
Mar 21, 2008 11:06 AM
Wanda ( Victory) If you check BuzzH58's WC Site: (http://phuture-design.wincustomize.com/ ) you will see he has same motto " Kia Kaha " He and I have been friends for many years , long before we came to WC. Kia Kaha " Stand Strong " is and old Maori saying. You stand strong when faced with adversity :)
Mar 21, 2008 12:23 AM
Waiting Impatiently,And thank you in advance.
Mar 20, 2008 7:39 PM
Hi, Fairyy:) I'm just curious about "Kia Kaha"...It has a nice "ring" to it. Intriguing...
Mar 20, 2008 2:59 PM
Wanda ( Vistory ) Congrats and I'm glad you received my email. Your welcome. Thanks Scottish , Kinger, and Angus and Vervi. Im working on the Rainlendar now Kinger :)

Mar 19, 2008 10:54 PM
Hi, Fairyy! Thanks for sending the Book Icons! I appreciate it. Sorry I was so slow getting back to say thanks. Actually my time on the computer has kinds been hit and miss lately. My son and his wife just had a baby today, and I'm so excited! Sadly, I live 1500 miles away and haven't gotten to hold him yet. I'll be flying there to visit in a couple of weeks. Anyway, I've been joyously distracted lately. I'm a huge fan of your designs. BTW, I love your "friends" saying you included in your e-mail. And it goes quite well with your Fairyy design! Cheers . . . Wanda
Mar 19, 2008 4:14 PM

Starree I will mail you that wall in the morning :)
Mar 16, 2008 2:42 AM
Hello, I'm a current fan of all your wonderful work. I recently downloaded the wallpaper blackmagic and I saw your current desktop. The girly version is excellent. Can you please email (le.joseph@sympatico.ca) me that version since your not uploading it. Thank You. Again, keep up the great work
Mar 15, 2008 5:40 PM
TecNeek : The folders with the pics and notepads are the actual Rainlendar skins. All you need to do is unzip those skins to The Rainlendar Skin folder in the directory that you installed the Rainlendar program to.. (Usually C drive > Program Files > Rainlendar > Skin Folder) Once you unzip the file to the skin folder then close it and open up Rainlendar...Right click on the Rainlendar and select " Skin " and a list of your skins will come up for you to choose from. If your using Rainlendar 2 - you unzip to the skin folder in Rainlendar 2 Hope that helps :)

Thanks for your comment on the "Hair" wallpaper. Glad you like it!
Feb 19, 2008 10:05 PM
Fairyy!...if you have the time I would appreciate you viewing my recent SS called "Artist's Sunset". It's more artistic than most of the normal SS ((I even use a Renoir)...and when I think of artists, I think of you and know you will be honest in your appraisal. Thanks!
Feb 17, 2008 3:13 PM
Hi Fairyy~
Thanks for the nice comment on my clock widget! :)
Feb 11, 2008 11:45 PM
TSA...dont feel foolish, your not the first nor will you be the last that didn't know about the skin config.
Glad I could help...

Feb 11, 2008 11:14 PM
haha holy cow, I didn't even realize that was there.. Geez I feel like an idiot now. I was so used to making OD themes. haha thanks for the heads up! http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Smile.gif

TSA..
Instead of just using the ini pad to make your changes etc.
Right click on the Rainlendar > Skins > Edit current skin ( that is at the top of your skin list )
There you will find an easier way to configure the rainlendar. I really dont know what those extra number are in that font line. I use the skin config > days tab when I make changes.
Also , if you use the skin config ...all colors are RGB there so you dont need to worry about changing the ini pad and reversing the numbers. Applying changes there automatically changes the ini pad .
Feb 11, 2008 6:57 PM
Two short questions to begin (btw, skinning using the old .ini style)
1) What are all the extra numbers given here:
DaysFont= 12/0/0/0/700/0/0/0/0/3/2/1/34/Arial

2) If I am understanding the coloring scheme correctly, can you only use web safe colors? and do they have to be input backwards?
Ex: 3399ff is a light blue(when checking in photoshop), but it has to be put in the .ini file as ff9933 to show light blue, 3399ff actually shows as orange.
Feb 11, 2008 10:58 AM
Sure TSA ...just send me an email if it will require more than a few sentences. I'll help you if I can..

Bazzie...I told you long ago that I don't have any tutorials to explain how to make an Avatar. You need a good graphics program and just experiment with making something you like - just remember to resize it to 50x50 to see what it looks like because when you upload it WC will resize it if you don't.
Feb 11, 2008 4:22 AM
Hey Fairyy, I had some questions about skinning Rainlendar and Messiah1 informed me that you would the one to talk to. So with that said if you have some free time could I possibly bother with a few questions? (I wont ask any until you say so).
Feb 9, 2008 9:52 PM
Thanks Fairyy~...that answers my question.
Feb 9, 2008 8:31 PM
Cobra...you dont need to do anything to a link when you put in in the details of your Screen Shot or skins. I just have everything ready on saved notepad.
Example:
Rainlendar by Fairyy~:
http://fairyy.wincustomize.com/
You just leave it as is ...the site will change it to the links that you see.
Feb 9, 2008 12:58 PM
Fairyy~...if you don't mind my asking...it's easy to put a link in the comment section of a SS, but I think most people don't know how to put one in the description upon posting. Am I correct in assuming that to do so, you have to highlight the entire URL, including the http// address, and then copy it to the referenced item. Is that correct? Thanks for your time!!! :)
Feb 7, 2008 10:08 PM
Thank you for the nice compliment Angus , and nice to 'meet' you :)
Feb 7, 2008 12:48 PM
Just dropped in to say "HI" Karen. MJ and I have become good friends as we live very close. The works done by you, MJ and Buzz are absolutely beautiful. You are all an inspiration to new WC members hoping to learn this ART,and especially those of us who might have thought only the young hot shots could do this.
Feb 6, 2008 12:31 PM
Hi Fairyy~,
I am so sorry to have bothered you with this SS. I pulled it as I was not satisfied with it and felt it did not represent you and jazzymjr's work very well. I'm a perfectionist and sometimes a SS just doesn't work and it pains me to see it everyday. I apologize for wasting your time...thank you for responding though, I appreciate your time and consideration.
Feb 3, 2008 2:36 AM
Hi Fairry~...used your Hearts Afire RL and Weather Widget in my recent SS along with jazzy's WB. I wanted to have fun with this shot and I wanted to do something NOT related to Marvel Comics :)
Jan 23, 2008 1:54 PM
Ya,you are right its not so easy. And buzz58 is doing a great job by making all those nice effects manually....I will keep trying and thx for everything.its really nice that you answered.THX and bye
Jan 23, 2008 1:14 PM
Well ddelia..its not as easy making stuff this way. Photoshop is probably easier. Buzzh58 is the wall maker , I am not that good at it. His effects are all done manually. There is not ' button' to just push to get the effects he achieves. But, play around with photoshop a bit and just test the different effects. :)
Jan 23, 2008 12:11 PM
I didnt know that these programs can do so nice walls....good job!!!
Jan 23, 2008 12:11 PM
THX...sorry for my questions but can you tell how you made the glossy or shiny look on the wallpapers (lonely rose for example)and which program you used for it.
THX again and hope I didnt bother you.Bye
Jan 23, 2008 7:20 AM
I use a combination of programs..Paint.net , photo Filter Studio and a few others.
Jan 22, 2008 1:51 PM
thank you for the answer...but i do have one more question. If its possible can you tell me what program you are using.I really thought its photoshop...:) THX again and bye.
Jan 22, 2008 9:35 AM
Hi ddelie - I just answered you on buzzh58's Guest book..he is away at this time so I am answering for him. I do not use Photoshop so Im not familar with the tools of that program.
Jan 20, 2008 5:09 PM
hi I like your work very much its great...I am wondering how you made that shiny look on your wallpapers and if you would tell me I would be more than happy...it looks so great...I asked buzz58 also but he is currently not online..unfortunetly..
