Hi Wanda.I spend just a moment to greet you, and to thank you for your sympatic comments. I will think to you and your family from Casablanca.Thank you very much for your kindness ma bonne AMIE !vito.
Hi there! Just thought I'd drop you a note. You expressed interest in a Vista substyle of Organic...I just uploaded the update and as soon as it passes the mods it will be available. :)
Just stopped by to say HI :D
Just stopped by to say hi, and to let you know I got some new stuff :D
Hi Wanda, Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you acknowledged Us Both! :D
Hi Wanda, just stopped by to say, Have a Happy Mothers Day!
Sorry it took me so long to respond...thanks for the nice comments. It means a lot coming from you as I think you are a great artist...
Thanks for the visit Wanda :)
I think Everybody should get together after work and stop by the The Artists' Lounge for coffee and some pastries.
Thanks for the kind words Wanda, I hope You have fun arranging Your new furniture.
Thank you for the Congratulations !
Thanks for the kind words, I was worried that my first shot would be a flop.
Hi Wanda, I hope that you didn't take it the wrong way when I said "every bit helps", I was in no way trying to be critical of your work, I really do think you do a great job of putting this stuff together. I was just referring to the amount of exposure once again. I feel that the people that don't look any further than just the main gallery are really missing out because they only get to see what someone else liked and not necessarily what they might like.
Hello victory99, Beautiful gallery you have here. (Silica Picture Frame) is the viewer I mentioned, its an Desktop X Widget and I believe you get all the Silica gadgets when you download Desktop X, thats how I found it. I looked for this specific .exe to give you a link and it is not in the DX widget gallery. I'm sure there are all kinds of viewers out there on the internet but I really like this one.
Hey Ck...thanks for stopping by...always good to hear from you! Hadn't noticed we have the same fave...it is a great skin.
Hey Wanda...coincidentally, we share the same "My Favorite Skin"...guess that's appropriate. Hope all is well as we wait for the release of your next artistic enterprise.
Hi Wanda, just wanted to let you know I made some new stuff, its not available yet, but I hope you like it.
Oh yeah, too dark is not a proper description of this artistic collage, I prefer to call it sleek! So keep up the good work my friend :D
Featuring Your SS is the least I could do, Thanks again for all your help. Not that I think there is alot of people checking out my page or anything like that, but I figured every bit helps :D
Oh yeah, I guess since you checked out my desktop you can figure out where I got the idea for my name :D
Thanks for your comments as well, and thanks for all your help, if it wasen't for you I wouldn't have been able to add the link or my fav's.
Wanda--Your comments are well appreciated, thank you very much....
Hi Wanda, sorry to bother you, I have no idea how to add favorites to my site. Think you can help the dumb new guy again?
Thanks, glad you liked my gnome.
Sorry for the poor typing skills again, here, take this (m).
I'm sure you know what to do with it.
I made some gnomes, just waiing for the to be available. Now I have to convert them to Icons.
Thanks for the congrats on Silex!!!
Thanks, sorry it took so long for the icon, I didn't realize that they had sent me an Email letting me know that I didn't make it in all the required sizes.
As always, Wanda, thanks for all of the comments on my artwork. So glad you enjoy it!
Hey Wanda, doing fine here...how are things in ND??? I never tried WinStep though I've thought about it enough. I guess anything is worth trying if it gives you ideas and/or inspiration and leads to art. I can't wait to see your next post...bet it will be great. I'm running out of ideas and new material...don't like any of the "industrial" look that is popular here. I've found the worst thing to do is to force a SS...it usually fails. Take care and I'll be waiting for the unveiling....
Glad you liked the flamingo, I made both again, but the Icon is still in moderation.
Thank you for that wonderful comment in my Organic Cursor!!
Hi Wanda, wanted to let you know that I had some new stuff, and to ask a newbie question, when you uploade, how do you put in a link?
Thanks for your kind review of "ZZ"...I appreciate it and look forward to your next work of art. It does get intimidating when you have to follow a SS like you last one...but you can do it.
Hey Wanda...been doing the Audubon thing at the National Wildlife Refuge near the Cape...great weather and great array of animal life. Love it when the Avocets and Godwits are here...seems a shame to sit in front of a computer all day when this kind of natural beauty is at hand. With spotting scope and binoculars, I have a lot of fun and since I usually accompany a wildlife biologist...learn a lot too. Take care and thanks for dropping by...
I don't remember where I got the wall, I didn't want to put it up without giving credit.
Thanks, I'm new at this too, I got ideas, I'm working the skills!
Thanks for the kind words, and I have to say, you really know how to put this stuff together, Nice SS collection!
Wanda, I truly do appreciate your kind comments on my SS, but you absolutely have a gift for this. You turn out one masterpiece after another!!
Thank you for stopping by my site and for the nice comments! Very much appreciated! :)
I don't know how or when or where you found the time...but Silex Entwined is "super star" great, and really deserves a five star rating. You can't get much better than this....no one can... as perfection is the ultimate goal and it takes an artist like you to know when to quit and when you've reached that point. Congrats on this SS...it's a masterpiece...I can't believe how great it is.
Hi Victory, thank you so much buddy for the greeting and for stopping by.. Im sorry for the late response but i've been busy learning a new system, but as you already know we all appreciate having you as a active new member in our community... best wishes my friend
Hey Wanda...where ya been?
Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment on my site about SSOTD. That was the first page I opened this morning and didn't have a clue what you were talking about. I am totally shocked and can't really think right now. (writing isn't one of my strong points either) Thanks again
The article is fine; good even. :) We rarely lock, hide, or delete posts. It'll be off the recent list in a few days.
You have nice gallery Wanda! Have a nice time and thanks for your comments!
thankyou and you're welcome. :)
I think you're the first person to ever comment on one of my SS while still in moderation. I thank you for that and I appreciate your comments as they are so complimentary. I don't like the fact that "Critters" hasn't posted yet...could mean an automated rating which is not usually good as you know. I think they're giving out too many 2 1/2's and the quality of the shots vary so much that I just don't see how they can all be considered in that rating slot....like Vervi's "Angel" for example and your two recent shots. You asked about my NLL SS which was temporarily in my gallery...well, they gave it a 2 1/2 and I pulled it...thought it was an insult and I feel strongly that our only means of protest is to yank the shot if we vehemently disagree with the moderation's rating. I sent you and e-mail to confirm your address...be sure to let me know if you get it so I can elaborate.
I'm in North Dakota...about 50 miles from the Canadian border! I thought you might be in Florida, since I had noticed Florida weather in your widgets...HeHe! The time on the site (in comments, etc.) seems wacky to me, though, so I was having a hard time figuring out the time zones. I want to express my sincere appreciation for your support...it means so much to me. I have never shared any artistic expression publicly, so I've felt a little apprehensive. Thanks for your encouragement. BTW, I see The Phoenix is rising...as it should, because it is outstanding! ...Later, my friend!
I'm in Florida - EST - and it's funny you mentioned "Itsy Bitsy Spider" because it was simple and clean (and one of my favorites) but didn't do well in the ratings. It received wonderful comments but no one moved it up. I'll address this more when I write.
Believe me...you could never make a fool of yourself...you are an artist and it's obvious to me. Your work is very impressive and you should be proud of it. Good night, my friend...
Thanks, that means a lot coming from you. I guess I was concerned that I might be making a fool out of myself by expressing my artistic individuality...
By the way, you are very clever in calling it Candle in the Wind...I love that. You are good at this....no, you are great at this.... and these little nuances and subtleties increase your artistic integrity.
You will receive an e-mail if any of your work is rejected with a WOW as to the reason why. Sometimes celebrity pictures are rejected but I don't know if this is what's holding up your SS. Mine took a long time to post tonight too, but yours is taking an unusually long time....hopefully it won't go into the auto pilot mode which means a low rating. I checked it out and love it...I saw the wall in mrrste's gallery and liked it. You did a great job with the shot and it should do well. I just finished another SS and I am really excited about this one...think it's one of my best...can't wait to send it in.
My last SS used AveDesk, AveTunes and AveScripter as some of the Quartz GuiKit has skins that only those apps can run. Now you can fool around with AveDesk..it's a lot of fun but not for the fainthearted....and you'll need AveScripte as well to run most of the apps I was running in LT Quartz. I'm mixing PC and Mac now...as you can tell by the bottom dock and how the ping files are not all in a boring row...I love this look. Looking forward to your next offering...bet it will be true to your name.
Thanks for your comment on Sunshine, Blue Plastic 3D is still in moderation but I am hoping it is approved soon and goes in the gallery. I have stuff in moderation from last Thursday and don't know what the hold up is. It usually doesn't take this long.
Soon as I can get to them...meaning it'll be awhile...I'll be into updating for Vista...thanks for the visit. :)
thank you so much for passing by and hp easter to you too
Hey Victory! Thanks for stopping by and commenting! I'm glad you enjoy my efforts! And hope you have a happy Easter!
HAPPY EASTER. It isnt uploaded here becuase I didnt know that the moderators set it to only show on my personal page so I thought It was my fault and tred to edit it again with the option unckecked and they obviously got mad or something because they rejected it altogether? But it is at DA herehttp://robbyjk.deviantart.com/ Hope you like. Thanks for stoping by my page and thinking of me!!( :
Thanks for stopping by my page. Happy Easter to you too. I hope you and your sons had a good day.
Hi victory. Thank you for that and Happy Easter to you too.
Happy Easter, Wanda...will be writing when the holiday activities die down....later!
HI, raphaelrgb! :) Thanks for stopping by my site and for the nice compliment on my designs! The dates seem to be messed up in this comment section, so I'm not sure when you were here. The link for the wallpaper is http://mouserunner.deviantart.com/gallery/. He has a lot of great stuff there. You'll enjoy your visit. In the future I will start putting links in my shots. I new at this and didn't know how to do it at the time. Thanks for your visit. You are welcome here anytime, my friend.! :)
Thank you, HG, for stopping by to welcome me!:) That really means a lot to me - especially coming from the *Grand Master of Shots*! The idea of stepping into skinning is appealing. I just might have a go of it. Thanks for your encouragement!
Welcome to WC Victory99 :) Your SSOTD was well deserved :CONGRAT:
Thanks for the kind comments. Keep up the great work and As Zubaz said.. Stepping in to skinning is easy and fun.
Good to have you aboard :)
It's annoying, but the remove button has never worked and I've reported the problem. I would have certainly guessed a Beethoven sonata...I love them all...perhaps Moonlight or Pathetique...but the Emperor is great too. I also love jazz...real jazz(not Kenny G) but Miles and Bill Evans, Coleman Hawkins, Coltrane, etc. but then I can listen to Eric Clapton and Led Zeppelin also (Dylan and Baez)....guess my musical tastes are eclectic, but I hate anything mainstream or mediocre or anything ordinary. Give me the avant-garde...cutting edge stuff that challenges and provokes...inspires and transcends.
I guess the “Remove” comment doesn't work? Should be “Emperor Concerto” and is my favorite.
Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat major, opus 7 (known as the Emporer Concerto). It was his last and to me it is the most emotionally stirring of all.
Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major, opus 58
So what's your favorite piano concerto????
Just wanted to wish you Congrats on the birth of your new Grandchild again.
:)
Thanks, Cobra, for the lesson. I didn't think it would be that simple.
To add links to the descriptions of your screenshots, use notepad and I'll give you an example:
WindowsBlinds is Dragon by Stardock Design
http://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skind=6427&libid=1
Of course, using copy and paste for the URL and WC will automatically convert the link to the nice and tidy symbol you see on the postings...that's all there is to it. You can always correct or edit your descriptions as long as you don't resubmit your screenshot....it bypasses moderation when only text is changed.
I know exactly what you're referring to regarding the whole Greenwich Village thing. Contrary to what my Profile page states, I'm 56. (shh - don't tell anyone!:) The sixties were a "trip, man"!LOL Regarding the "99", there really is no significance. Like I previously commented, I had a terrible time trying to get my info to "take" when I first registered at the site. I suppose I was probably thinking something along the lines of "I already told you 99 times what my nickname will be!" . . . Or some such nonsense - who knows? Not I!
I know exactly what you mean...my background is in writing with interests in art, foreign films, jazz - the whole Greenwich Village thing that existed back in the 60's when it was "cool" to be an intellectual. But I do hunger for creative expression and I find that doing these ScreenShots fulfills that need and I love the camaraderie here. But the downside is the time element which does detract from family, friends, etc...but you'll balance it all out and share with us your enormous and yet untapped creative fountain. Out of curiosity, what does the number "99" signify?...if it's not too personal.

Nice to meet you, Bob! Thanks for the complement and the offer to help. I suppose the only downside to spending time here and playing with screenshots and such, is that it detracts from the time which friends and family insist I should be devoting to my artwork. I do detailed, photo-realistic graphite pencil drawings. I've never had any formal art training, but I have been blessed with innate artistic ability. I'm almost embarassed to admit it, but I have really taken my talent for granted. I have literally gone years without drawing anything. When I was busy raising my children as a single parent, I had neither the time nor the mental wherewithal to do much with it. Now that my kids are grown, I'm remarried, and I'm a housewife I really should make it a point to get more serious about drawing. I'm finding that screenshots are a lot of fun and are certainly less tedious than doing detailed drawings. So I guess I'll find a middle ground by doing both. Actually both gratify the artist in me. The whole SS deal has served to rekindle the desire to be creative.
Hi Wanda,
Thanks for the drop by and the kind words. You will do well here as your first SS was one of the best I've ever seen. You really have an artistic eye and as de Chirico said: "Perspective is transcendental." If there is anything I can ever do to help, just let me know...but I think you will do just fine on your own. As Diafragma once told me..."just have fun". Take care....Bob or CK or CobraKahn - take your pick.
Again, congrats on the SSotD.
If you want to start skinning it's not too hard. Start with Bootskins and then Logons.
You have a good eye and I think you might do well.
I am sorry that Link dont work. It is because I updated it before it was accually available to the public. On top of that I forgot to uncheck ONLY SHOW IN MY GALLERY and had to do that so It is still being processesed! I hope you look out for it and I hope you and everyone else likes It becuse I LOVE IT! I may just be becuase I made it? Thanks again! See Yas Later!
Robby
Thank you for the comment.
Thanks for the Comment! I am so glad you like it. You mentioned that you like the Picture on the icons screen. The reason I made the Icon was to match My wallpaper which is here---http://wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=36138&libid=8
I am working on wide screen and fullscreen versions of it but right now it is 1024 768 and tonight I will upload the widescreen and full screen. There are four versions of the wall. Check it out.
